Dr. Amos was raised in Harrisonburg, VA where he graduated high school. He enjoyed playing sports, engaging in outdoor activities and playing piano. He received a full scholarship to play football at the College of William and Mary, where he graduated with a B.S. degree in chemistry.
Following college he attended the Medical College of Virginia for dental school. Dr. Amos graduated with multiple honors and chose to specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency was completed at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and Shreveport.
After his residency, Dr. Amos and his wife, Suzanne, along with their two young sons chose to move to Winchester. During his second year of practice their third son was born at Winchester Medical Center.
Dr. Amos is an associate clinical professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia, where he teaches on a part-time basis.
He is board certified and a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is affliated with the Winchester Medical Center.
Small town activities have never left Dr. Amos as he enjoys hiking, fishing, mountain biking and gardening. He and his wife now enjoy these activities more often as all three children are grown and pursuing their own careers. They return home to Winchester frequently and share family time together.
